gardonpat This is a size 6. Is it true to size? Do you typically wear a 6, and did it fit okay? I like sheath/column dresses but don’t want them to be too snug at the hip/butt.

bmh_55 @gardonpat Is there really a “true” size anymore ?!? lol. I’m pretty much a true 4 in bottoms and a 6 on top. I was desperate and rolled the dice with an online order and shocked to at it fit perfectly. At 60+ yo, I carry a little extra weight in my belly. I’m shaped like an inverted V, small hips and broader shoulders. I can take more measurements if you’d like.

bmh_55 In summary, it fit like a glove. Not like a stuffed sausage, but no fabric gaping anywhere, and was comfortable sitting and dancing.

gardonpat @bmh_55 I want a good fit but not overly snug. I’m opposite of you. I am full in the hips and narrow through the shoulders. Could you please take a measurement of the complete circumference at the part that would be over the hip/butt?

bmh_55 @gardonpat So, I added another photo. Laying flat, it’s a bit over 17 hip to hip (or what I consider the widest part of the hip area. That said, the fabric is quite stretchy- I am able to stretch it to about 19” hip 2 hip. I hope this helps :)

gardonpat I apologize for asking, but can you tell me how you think it might do for me at the low waist if the size guide says size 6 low waist is 26-27, but I am a 33”?

bmh_55 @gardonpat please don’t apologize! It’s a big decision! My natural lower waist is 29”. I can tell you that I had room in the tummy area, but I’m not comfortable recommending or guessing on such a large purchase. I do think the recommended size guide of 26-27 isn’t accurate and fits larger. Neimann Marcus still carries the dress, along with other high-end stores. When I bought it, shipping was free and came next day.
