An icon costume jewelry producer, Richelieu Jewelry was founded in 1882 in New York City, later well known for their imitation pearls in the 1940s and 50s. Bill Smith later created jewelry for the Broadway production of “Coco”, a musical about Coco Chanel starring Catherine Hepburn.
