funkypineapple @summergirl16 Then I had to take care of my 90 year old great uncle. I held both of their hands when they died. I would not have it any other way. Plus, they knew me and knew I would do things their way so getting full time help would have just resulted in full time irritation and I would have ended up doing it anyway. But they were great!! I now know a million stories and I have good memories even thought it was ending for them.

funkypineapple @summergirl16 Even though i would not change my experience I will tell you that was a stress and an exhausted time of my life. Taking care of others, for me, is very tiring. I was young when I did it like you are now but it still gave me a stomach ulcer from stress. You are a super duper gal for what all you did for them and you seem like a very bright capable young lady. I know they appreciated you even if they could not say it. summergirl16 @funkypineapple omg that must be rough, my mom was crying one day to me cause they couldn’t afford a nursing home or a home health provider for them. At first I would watch them from 7am-4pm then go work my night job but I was so exhausted I quit my night job. My grandma had dementia so being 19 I didn’t know anything about it. It was hard. I know how you felt. Stressful and exhausting. But I’m glad I did it cause I have the memories.
