mw12 @theshoesarenew hello I sent an offer but first I wanted to ask about fit. I bought a dress in this brand (different style) in US4 and it was super tight in the waist. I am 5’5 120 with a straight shape. I usually wear a size 4, 26 jeans and 34B. Do you think this would fit me okay?

theshoesarenew @mw12 hi! Hold on, let me check the dress again. I have very similar measurements to you, so it might help. I’m a 34B but wear a size 27 in jeans usually (sometimes 26). Can I get back to you in about 30 minutes?

mw12 @theshoesarenew sure no problem at all. I totally wanna make sure it fits. I spent money on the other one which is too small. Ugh. She told me it would fit but the waist was wayyyyy smaller. So take your time. It’s for my 40th bday in Vegas 😬

theshoesarenew @mw12 oh how fun!!! Ok sooo I just tried it on. I’m 5’2”, 119 pounds and the waist fits me perfectly. Bust and hips fit pretty good too - I’m not sure but I could have possibly sized down if it wasn’t for my waist. My waist measures 29”. Do you have a flexible measuring tape to measure yours? I’m thinking this might be just slightly too big on you, sadly.

theshoesarenew @mw12 although, their size chart says a US4 is best for a 27” waist, which as you experienced, would be too small on you. I’m guessing your waist is 28”…. in which case this dress will fit, but won’t fit super snug if that’s what you prefer.

mw12 @theshoesarenew I appreciate all your help. Lol. I am just super straight and don’t have much waist. I don’t want it to be super tight. I might be able to get the other one on but could hardly breathe. lol. Okay so just checked and I’m about a 27.5

theshoesarenew @mw12 I’m a 34B as well! The bust fit good - there was room to fit a 34C but it didn’t feel oversized or anything. My hips are 39” and it fit good there too. With a 27.5” waist, you’re just between sizes for this brand (on their size guide), but looser is obviously better than too tight! Just know, the waist on this dress laid flat and unstretched is 14” so it will be slightly loose. As long as you’re ok with that.

theshoesarenew @mw12 Sorry! Somehow I missed your comment from this morning! Soooo, I can’t say if it will look ok or not. The fabric is on the thicker side so I’m not sure if it will have awkward bulges. But I think you could get it taken in if you need to. It’s totally up to you if you want to take the chance, but if not I totally understand as well! If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask 😊.
