Rare find. 1800’s gold filled Victorian Mourning pin. Worn by family & kin.

This Brooch-pendant has a small black Pearl in the center with c clasp & t pin. Measures 1.5” x 3/4”. Depending on what you were. Widows wire for 2 years, children 1 year. Brothers & sisters 1 year, then dropped down to 6 mos, 3 mos, etc. depending on what relation you were. This tradition was started in the 1600’s. It is in good condition , but could use a good cleaning especially on the back.
