Rare Vintage Sterling Silver Napping Man with Sombrero Brooch

VINTAGE STERLING SILVER NAPPING MAN BROOCH WITH SOMBRERO SIGNED MEXICO, SILVER SOUTHWESTERN PIN This early silver pin depicts a man in traditional Mexican garb taking a siesta. It looks hand fabricated. Signed SILVER MEXICO. This documented early silver mark was used on jewelry made in the 1920's through the 1940s. Back then, the silver standard varied but typically was at least sterling 925 purity and frequently was even as high as 980 purity. The pin closes with a roll over safety clasp and it is hollow hence the tiny hole on the back below the word SILVER. No dings and it has a beautiful warm patina that only comes from age. Also a bit of tarnish. This well-made early silver piece is sure to compliment any collection!
