"Rare" Singin Time in Dixie: Americas Favorite Gospel Singers 2010 DVD
America's number one quartet team, the Blackwood Brothers and the Statesmen, joined forces with the Speer Family, Rebels, Stamps Quartet, and the Oak Ridge Boys to produce this popular TV program "Singin' Time in Dixie". Return to the mid-sixties and see these great groups perform songs that you will enjoy again and again.
Also included in this video is the 1965 RW Jr and Ron & The Blackwood Boys (Premiers) with Jerry Redd (Tenor), Ike Hall (Bass) and Everette Reece on piano.
This DVD contains one hour of rare footage from two complete "Singin' Time in Dixie" shows. You will see the only vintage footage of the late Jack Toney singing "Beyond the Gates," and the only known professional footage of the late "Smilin" Joe Roper. Joe Roper was the legendary songwriter and pianist for the Melody Boys Quartet and the Stamps Quartet.
There is no way to describe the wonderful singing and excitement of this program. It is a collector's dream and a rare find.
