RARE Beautiful LIDDED COMPOTE with beautiful Rainbow of Colors in natural light of blues and pinks!! Under a Black Light Pen, the Compote glows (see Main and 1st photo). Second Photo shows the Black Light Pen in the left-hand corner shining on the Compote. I AM NO EXPERT IN VASELINE OR CARNIVAL GLASS BUT WAS TOLD AT THE ESTATE SALE THAT THIS IS VASELINE GLASS AND IT DOES GLOW UNDER A BLACK LIGHT PEN AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE 1ST AND SECOND PHOTO. When you turn it in natural light, you can see a rainbow of colors of blue, pink, maybe green, maybe yellow, purple, etc. To me, it looks kind of like Carnival Glass in natural light, but not really like other Carnival Glass I have seen. It is definitely Iridescent. This piece is very unusual and not like any other glass I have ever come across in my many, many years of reselling. The Compote is in Excellent Condition with no chips or cracks. However, there is some slight "roughness" to a small area of the inside rim of the lid that I have tried to photograph that I can feel with my finger. Not sure what that is (see last photo).
