Rare Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Tussy Mussy Tussie Mussie Pin

This beautiful and rare pin was very popular in the Victorian era. Small bouquets of flowers were carried by the upper class and royalty and are now sought after by collectors. This is an older pin, judging by the simple C clasp. They were used to cover up the odors in the older days. By 1830 these were used as a fashion trend to carry tiny bouquets of flowers, popularized by Queen Victoria. They also became a courting gift. I believe that this is a thistle on the front. It is sterling silver, although unmarked. It has a beautiful old patina. Measuring 42.50mm in length. Weighs 5.64 grams. Questions are always welcome. Thanks!
