RARE antique sterling silver cuff bracelet, hallmarked and stamped "Lebanon". Very beautiful repousse work surrounds turquoise scarabs on this paneled masterpiece. Bracelet closes solidly with two pins. I've researched this for a long time, but never found its equal, nor found much info about it. Please share if you know anything! Artist signed, but I can't make out what it says. Mint condition w/dark patina. Measures approximately 7" x 1.25".

rmccouture @kawther I know it's a very beautiful piece. I am familiar with the scarab beetle, and the luck it is supposed to bring. I just haven't found any other Lebanese jewelry that is stamped like this anywhere else. It's very unusual for me to be unable to find something that I am researching, but after months and months, I finally gave up!

singaporejones Scarabs and turquoise, damn oo! 😅 I have an Aztec bracelet like this and an Egyptian lapis ring, or I would have to nab this at some point. An Easter egg for you: wear the scarabs pointing toward you to bring yourself luck, or pointing outward to bring others luck. You may also already know that turquoise has long been considered protection while traveling. ☺

singaporejones I wish I had something useful to contribute regarding the history. 😕 The folks I knew locally who might have known something (esp. re: the turquoise) are retired from the jewelry biz now and live in NM. If I see the lady who sold me my Aztec bracelet, I'll ask her, though I think she's given up on coming to my town for Christmas sales. She deals in a lot of import antique work. Have you tried posting to Instagram? I've found a # of folks there who have bkgd in this or design their own or both.

erinmkovac I thought it was signed LL but it is hard to make..i have some relatives who own a gallery and many types of people...I can ask him. this is a rare and probably one of a kind made for a very special woman...I too have pieces I can't see a marking but the craftsmanship is amazing ... ludeae @rmccouture This is gorgeous! I saw one like it at auction but passed on it because it was too small for me. Most of my scarab collection is from the 20's Egyptian revival. I've even bought broken pieces, taken them apart, & made shadow box art using the scarabs.

It's too big for me, or else I would never sell it. I love this bracelet. It's not small at all; and I've never seen one from Lebanon before. It's a mystery to me because no matter how much research I have done (which is a lot!) I can't find anything quite like this. It's a real treasure! Happy New Year❤️Amanda
