groovyglam @patriciaswiger Rise is measured from the crotch seam up the front to the top of edge of the waist. Thigh is measured apx. 4" below the crotch.

Since every manufacturer has different protocols, I recommend going by the measurements provided to find the correct fit. I'm happy to take additional measurements if requested prior to purchase.
