REVERSIBLE RHINESTONE CUFFLINKS WITH GOLD TONE & BLACK ENAMELED SETTING -McTSDB1

Simple in design, these cufflinks have what appears to be black enamel in a gold tone rim, and a center clear rhinestone in another gold tone rim. Cufflinks average 20.25mm diameter and the front & back are connected by a heavy looped wire. The front and back of cufflinks are the same so that they can be reversed. Cufflinks are pre-owned and in good condition with minor dings/scratches not apparent unless closely inspected. ● Cufflinks were properly introduced in the 17th century by King Charles II who was recognized for his style. He popularized cufflinks by regularly wearing them in public, helping to influence the people's opinion on these statement accessories. Men began using small chains that were fastened to the end of a gold or silver button and fed through the holes of the cuff to keep them together. Although the first cufflinks appeared in the 1600s, they did not become common until the end of the 18th century. With the onset of the Industrial Revolution, the high production of low-cost cuff links enabled a greater variety of cufflinks to be manufactured. Chains were replaced with rods and fasteners with easy-to-close clips.
