RESERVED Antique Diamond Crescent Moon Necklace

An exquisite antique diamond crescent moon pendant, in 18k gold. Set with very fine quality antique old cut diamonds. These are beautiful examples of the cut, bright white and well cut. Top quality old cuts like these increasingly difficult diamonds to hunt down as their popularity continues to grow. These diamonds are old mine cuts, one of the earliest of the old cut diamond styles used in the Georgian and early-Victorian periods, indicating the stones were likely cut between 1800 - 1850. The stones have a lovely and highly-coveted shape: a soft slightly elongated pillowy cushion outline with a puffy high crown, creating gorgeous fire and sparkle. They have a classic open culet (point), and beautiful chunky facets that throw rainbows and sparkles under sunlight. Gorgeous stones! Diamonds are approximately H color, VS2 clarity.
