My mother left me a family trunk in 1979, and this purse was in it, it had to have belonged to one of my Grandmothers, so it would at least be from the late 1800's. It's so unique and rare! It is not lined and has a kissing knob closure. Similar bags are selling in the $500-$700 range on other sites. NO TRADES. No lowball offers PLEASE.

This is a Whiting & Davis mesh bag most likely manufactured between 1892 (the first year Whiting & Davis made its first mesh bag) and 1920-something. The metal tag in the interior of the bag would better help to date this purse. I’m an avid collector of antique Whiting & Davis mesh bags, and I must say, you have a fine piece of historic fashion on your hands.
