RARE VINTAGE David Nicholson Trade display chalk statute vintage 17x12x7

Presenting a very eye-catching chalk (gypsum) statue back bar piece advertising David Nicholson 1843 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, made by the renowned Stitzel Weller Distilery in Louisville, KY. This rare piece is in excellent condition, still has the original wooden walking stick that the statue is holding and dates from the late 1950's/early 1960s. The display is actually in two pieces as it is meant to be used either as a standalone bust of the smiling David Nicholson (who resembles W.C. Fields) or sitting on a stand as part of a bottle glorifier (see attached pictures, bottle not included).The statue and base together measure an impressive 19" high X 12" wide by 7.5" deep. It was manufactured by the famed Mattei Advertising Displays Co of Louisville, which made high quality point-of-sale advertising items for the American whisky industry.
