The history of the NAPIER company began in 1875 when they initially released silver men's pocket watches under the name "Whitney and Rice". Renaming the company as "Carpenter and Bliss" back in 1882, their business grew rapidly over the next decade.
In 1922, James Napier became the company's president, and he launched jewelry under his own name, Napier. In the 1950s, First Lady Mamie Eisenhower called Napier her favorite piece of jewelry.
Napier Company sold in 1980. New owner Victoria & Company Ltd has released multiple failed collections, unable to preserve any designs or styles of the famous jewellery brand. The Napier brand ceased to exist on October 15, 1999, just a few months from its incredible 125th anniversary.
