RARE Collector Piece; 1964 HERMES Constance Bag, 24cm, Bleu Saphir Doblis & GHW

In 1962, Hermès sold their first line of handbags in the US, made specifically for Bonwit Teller, a high end department store in NYC. Prior to this, Hermès bags were only available in France, at a Hermès boutique. This bag is a 1962 Hermès Constance. The color is Bleu Saphir, with genuine 22k gold plated hardware. The bag is hand crafted in Doblis (suede), with lamb leather interior. The bag is a size 23cm, which has not been made by Hermès in many years. The bag features a "Bonwit Teller" stamp over the main heat stamp, as well as an "R" date code stamp for 1962. The bag is in incredible condition for being 63+ years old, and has but one small blemish on the rear, which is shown in the photos. This bag has NEVER been spa'd, or had any servicing or repairs by Hermès- It is completely original, untouched for many, many years. Comes with complete packaging including the box & dust bag. This bag was listed for sale on Baghunter many years ago for $20k, and sold within a half hour. For that reason, I chose not to sell, and keep as a collectors piece. Hermès bags (kept in good condition) only increase in value as they age, so please keep this in mind. I am in no rush to sell, so low offers will not be considered. Thank you for understanding.
