Featured is an AUTHENTIC VINTAGE 1970s Björn Weckström acrylic “Drop” necklace created in sterling silver, designed for Lapponia. The Lapponia line of jewelry by Björn Weckström was made famous when Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia wore a necklace in Star Wars and again by Yoko Ono when she wore one of his rings during an interview. A Master Artisan, Björn pieces define Scandinavian Modernism.
The pendant is sterling silver with a textured finish and a large clear acrylic with green drop. It is signed with hallmarks and measures approximately 2 1/2” tall by 1 3/4” wide. The chain is stamped on the hook closure and there are extra links for added length. Link style is iconic Björn.
Please see photos for condition & measurements. There are some minor scratches on acrylic due to storage. Sterling has never been cleaned or polished so there is some tarnish & links are not all straight. Piece has only been worn by one owner. Professional cleaning recommended.
