slcook3232 Hi there so sorry it has taken this long to get back to you. Family issues. Yes the strap and the whole purse is in excellence condition. No frays or cracks in purse or strap. The label inside says polyvinyl. I probably never used this purse more than 10 times. Thank you for inquiring
