One of the only beanies to be associated with a tragic historic event, Princess the Bear was produced by Ty in memory of the late Princess Diana. The bear’s purpose was to motivate the beanie community into contributing to the Princesses memorial fund. It has a purple body, black nose and eyes, and features a white embroidered rose on its chest. The Beanie Baby was produced in two versions: a royal purple version and a deep green version. The purple version was the first to be produced and is considered to be the rarer of the two. It was also the only version to include a space in the swing tag where the purchaser could write the name of the Beanie Baby. This made it a unique and cherished item among collectors. This particular Beanie Baby is a 1st edition and also considered to be rare due to the presence of errors: Oakbrook has no spacing on both tags.
