@fmiller3 Hello. Sorry for the delay. The pants are not a thin wispy fabric at all and are in excellent condition. No noted flaws. The length from the top of the pants to the hem of the shorts section is approximately 23”. Thank you for your interest in this item.

@watermaven I am not sure about the string? It maybe strung through the wrong way. I will check and get back with you later tomorrow afternoon.

@watermaven Sorry for the delay. The string is meant to be that way. No interior tie was ever present. The holes where the tie goes in and out of the waistband are finished like a button hole.
