Portieux Vallerysthal Bavard Pink Diving Dolphin Candlesticks These beautiful, vintage candlesticks were most likely produced in the 1930s at the Portieux Glassworks in France. It is quite amazing that these two, nearly century old, candlesticks made it all the way to my hands in Southeast Missouri without any chips or cracks. So much care must have gone into keeping these items so pristine. (At the time these were being manufactured the Portieux/Valerysthall Company had Glassworks on both sides of the France/Germany border. There is an interesting history regarding the company. World War II found the glassworks behind the border of Germany due to shifting borders. This led to the construction of a second glassworks on the French side.
