Please please please do some research before paying high prices for non-authentic Spell. There are many out there, and several on posh. Don't fall for the scams and have to deal with the annoyance of opening a case. You deserve the real thing for these prices. The real Gypsy Dancer dress directly from Spell is 100% Viscose. iamgeni Ladies, I advise that everyone join the Facebook group "Spell Designs Fake Help and Identification." A lot of research has been done by the admin, even speaking directly to Spell. There are tons of photos, and you can post photos of items before you buy and a caring community of girls will help you make the best decision. 💘

marleyblue I just saw a Gypsy dancer that is 100% poly and I feel terrible bc I shared it. I checked the tag on my dress that I have and it is viscose. The seller (from Chicago) says she purchased at revolve and they have poly blend. She is questioning me on where I bought mine but she blocked me so I can't respond. But I did message Spell to ask if the dresses for Revolve were made in polyester to clear it all up.

I just bought one, tags all seem fine...it’s 100% viscose, but the material is super shiny and very different from any of my other Spell skirts or dresses (and nothing like my Black Gypsy dancer strapy dress). Also, is there anywhere to just find a list of the Spell prints and styles that have been copied for reference? Thank you!

iamgeni @blue_anemone Hi! Yes, the gypsy dancer gown and skirt are both made of a viscose that is kind of shiny/slippery, while the sundress is a cotton/rayon blend. The fabric is definitely different than most of their other viscose garments. As far as I know, there are no fakes of the skirt, just the maple gown. As long as you have Spell tags and the content is viscose, it is authentic.

iamgeni @blue_anemone The most comprehensive list is found in that FB group. The list on the Spell site also includes garments with their stock photos used elsewhere, not necessarily fakes, so it is incredibly misleading. Hope that helps! ❤️

sydschwend @iamgeni hi! I was just wondering if I could have Tory help! I saw your post and think that I’ve been scammed in the past with a spell Shirt. I have the wanderlust tee, with the horse on it. I paid large amounts (almost $300) for it and for some reason I’m starting to think it’s a fake after a year or so of having it. I’ve looked at all the tags and just can’t really tell if it would be fake or not because I don’t have very many Spell pieces.

I’ve gotten a few raglans and the xl is way to tight because I’m large chested and they’re not very stretchy. The tee I have is a Medium and pretty stretchy. This is one reason I think it might be fake - thank you for all the help in advance. :)

iamgeni @sydschwend Hi! There aren’t any fakes of the Wanderlust tee. Their older tees are more forgiving than many of the raglans. I’ve had to size up in a couple of the raglans because they are so slim, especially in the arms. ❤️

yessi1228 @iamgeni hi I’m sorry to be another person to bombard you with help questions. I recently purchased a spell lovebird kimono and the material just seems off to me. It says 100% viscose and has all the Spell tags but I’m still not convinced. I paid a ridiculous amount for it and am hoping it’s authentic. It wrinkles easily and feels like chiffon somewhat. I expected it to feel like my Delilah kimono and that’s definitely not the case.

iamgeni @yessi1228 Hi! Yes, the lovebird kimono surprised everyone! It is nothing like the dress, rather a more sheer, more slippery fabric. A lot like wildflower. I do not believe there are fakes of this kimono (yet) so yours should be real if it has the Spell tags. 😘
