mommymissmay @pd223125 so I’m kind of new to this stuff but her tag and the presence of pleasant co on her neck (not American girl Llc or just American girl) indicate that she’s a transition phase model between when pleasant co was bought by Mattel and changed production factory. Her hair is a little dry but she looks in good shape overall.

mommymissmay @pd223125 Once Mattel got into the swing of things, Samanthas’ face shape (along with most of the others) changed to a slightly more elongated and less “chubby” cheeked look. Mattel dolls also have more makeup than the pleasant co dolls. As you get further on into modern American girl, the dolls get feathered brows, more coarse eyelashes, more eye color variety, etc.

mommymissmay @pd223125 The early pleasant co dolls have extraordinary eyelashes that are so soft! If you’re interested I know there is so much info on the internet!! You’ve got a really nice doll in great condition considering her age. If her sleepy eyes work, no one cut off her bangs or trimmed her hair, doesn’t have much wear markings or marker/makeup/nailpolish, she’s in fantastic shape! Bonus would be if you had her original meet outfit haha.

mommymissmay @pd223125 Samantha is also a little more sought after because she is one of the original release historical dolls from Pleasant Co and has since been retired. Her and her accessories especially the meet outfit, bed setup, etc are super nostalgia items right now.
