Platinum Jade and Diamond Good-Fortune Ring Size 5.5

This fabulous ring is created of Platinum, which is the ideal metal to showcase this amazing piece of Jade and the surrounding brilliant diamonds. I chose the Jade gemstone personally prior to having the setting made. The cabochon cut Jade is 10mm wide and 20mm long. It has a wonderful opaque transparency if held up to the sun or a strong light source. The texture is smooth and even making you want to rub and hold it. The grains in the Jade are tight and inter grown according to the cutter who polished it using a hollow bamboo lathe treated with sand and water to polish its surface. It is not Imperial Green which is the finest color of Jade. However, it was the closest I could afford to that true Emerald-Green so sought after in Jade. To complete the ring, I used diamonds from an anniversary ring I no longer wore. There are sixteen round brilliant cut diamonds at 40 points ctw and two straight baguette cut diamonds at 24 points ctw. In total diamond weight, there is 64 points total (right between 1/2 and 1/4 carat) of diamonds. The gallery work done in Platinum on the underside of the ring is exceptional. Rays of very difficult piercing work emit from a central oval and carry up to meet the diamonds. If you look very closely, and even more astounding was added by the jeweler.
