Modern Masterpiece Collection by Oggi Pierre Bonnard Coffee Mug •Pierre Bonnard was a French painter known for his bold use of color & for the decorative qualities of his paintings. He was a leading figure in the transition from Impressionism to Modernism •This mug features Bonnard’s “Young Women in a Garden” He began this painting in the early 1920’s but did not complete it for more than 20 years. The women modeling for this painting competed for his love for many years. They are Marthe de Meligny, who would eventually become his wife & Renee Monchaty who would kill herself in spurned grief. •Measures approx 4”H x 3.5”W, not inc handle •Brand is Modern Masterpiece Collection from Oggi Corporation, designed by David Tisdale •Original owner. In good condition. Area of rust stains are along rim, partially inside & out near handle. Time & effort should remove them from what I’ve read.
