Phulkari Dupatta from India

This is actually a purple/blue dupatta, rich color. Phulkari, meaning “flower work” (phul= flower, kari=work) is a type of embroidery originally made throughout the Punjab, a region now straddling Pakistan and India.Phulkari embroidery is done using a running stitch with brightly coloured untwisted silk thread historically imported from Kashmir and Bengal.
