@hilliarddolores Hi, kinda looks that way but it isn’t. It’s part of the matrix or mother stone that it was in. A lot of stones when they come out of the earth and rock they are formed in can be perfect on one side and not so much on the other. Usually a black backing is put on the back of a stone so you don’t see things like that or the back is covered with silver or gold. This maker does an open back so you see any imperfections in the stones she uses on this style ring.
