Here’s a two-record lot from Perlman & Ashkenazy’s much-loved Beethoven cycle for Decca/London. Volume Three (CS 7012, 1978) pairs a buoyant Sonata No 8 in G with the lyrical Sonata No 3 in E-flat; Volume Five (CS 7014, 1979) brings the sunny Sonata No 6 in A and the storm-tossed Sonata No 7 in C minor. Both were taped at Kingsway Hall with engineer John Dunkerton and famed Decca “tree” mic array, giving these red-label US pressings that wide London-ffrr soundstage collectors crave.
Jackets show honest shelf rub, a few corner dings and light ring-wear but no splits (solid VG). Bright red labels are crisp; vinyl on both discs retains a deep gloss with only faint sleeve-lines—play-graded VG+ on our Technics SL-1200 with minimal background. Cleaned in a Spin-Clean, stored in fresh anti-static inners, and ready for a quiet late-night listen or an audiophile shoot-out.
