Set of 6 mint, sealed decks made by United States Playing Card Co. and issued as part of the nation's bicentennial celebration in 1976. The backs of the 6 decks depict 6 different historic flags dating to the time of the American Revolution, as follows:
1775: Bunker Hill Flag "Pine Tree Flag"
1775: Culpeper Flag "Coiled Rattlesnake"
1775: Washington's Cruiser Flag
1776: Grand Union Flag, the first flag of the Continental Army
1777: First National Flag
1777: Bennington Flag
Each deck has at least 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus a backed insert card describing the deck's Flag. The cards are bridge size, measuring 90mm x 58mm. They are housed in an attractive box, with commemorative fabric to the underside of the lid and a slotted bottom to separate & hold the decks. The box also has the “Pepsi” name on the lid, which suggests that Pepsi may have provided some of the funding for this project.
The cards are mint & sealed. The box is in excellent condition, w/very minor shelf wear.
