Pearl Earrings Glass Based Simulated - 14 Karat Gold Wires

Earrings from the Metropolitan Museum of Art are composed of glass based simulated pearls with 24-karat gold electroplated caps suspended from 14 karat gold wires. The design of the earrings is based on the elements from a necklace worn by the heroic Roman matron Lucretia in a painting dating from about 1600 by an unknown artist.
