I purchased it specifically for hiking/backpacking/camping, and I kept it rolled up in my backpack in case I ever needed extra insulation. When I did need to use it, I usually wore a shell over it for extra coverage from rain or snow. There's one primary sign of wear: the small hole shown in one of the pictures. I believe that was from a flyaway ember from a campfire. It could easily be fixed with a small patch (which I think you can get from Patagonia) or even a little superglue. I haven't noticed it losing any down. The only reason I am parting with this is because I have been lifting, and this doesn't fit me anymore.
