The neutral colorings on this vintage scarf goes with just about anything. It's made from 100% Pashmina and very soft.
This 100% Pashmina Vintage Scarf is accented with pleats and Hand-Knotted Fringes.
This is not a silk blend or cotton blend Kashmir scarf. This is 100% Pashmina.
***Note: There are " no" holes but it does have some loose tracks in the elastic of pleats holding the gathers. That doesn't detract from its value. This can not be seen when wearing the scarf.
This premium cashmere scarf comes from Pashmina goats in the high-altitude regions of Ladakh in Kashmir and is produced only once a year.
Pashmina is a fabric made from a cashmere wool, which comes from the undercoat of certain types of goats:
Cashmere wool: The softest, longest, and thinnest hair from the chest of the animal.
Goats: The Changthangi cashmere goat is a breed that produces cashmere wool. Each goat produces about 80–170 grams of cashmere wool per year.
Processing: The wool is collected by hand-combing the goats, then cleaned and sorted. It's then spun by hand on a spinning wheel to create yarn. The yarn is so fine that it's only 12–16 microns in diameter. Finally, the yarn is woven by hand on a loom to create the fabric.
Pashmina is known for its quality and rarity, and is sometimes called "gold fiber". Pashmina shawls are often hand-crafted and have long knotted ends and frayed fringes.
The word "pashmina" comes from the Persian word pasha, which means "wool".
