Paris Antigona RARE VNTG Large Shell Gold Toned Clip‎ Earrings, 1 3/8” D — EUC EXCELLENT CONDITION! Incorporated in 1978, French jewelry brand Antigona Paris made stylish statement jewelry for about two decades, till 1990s. Their runway couture pieces were highly popular in the 1980-90s. Prestigious department stores and boutiques in France & Europe sold AP jewelry. Among them, in particular, were Selfridges in London, & jewelry boutiques in Trump Tower NYC. Traditionally, the designers created abstract or modernist design jewelry. They used textured matte gold or silver tone metal, lucite and enamel. Each piece has marking "Antigona Made in France", or "Antigona Paris". Currently rare, products of this French brand are desired for collectors & connoisseurs of vintage costume jewelry. Sophisticated Modernist Shells in textured gold matte finish Signed by designer c. 1980 (date not on stamp) but this design was created about that year. Made in France Diameter — 1 3/8” Quarter included for size reference. Photo shown wearing them. I have a small head and ears, but a lot of hair! Kept them on for 30 mins for comfort check.
