The plug in battery functions when connected to power. Cannot confirm if works portable! Camera gives video out and recorder functions. Could use a cleaning for sure. Audio is a bit crunchy not sure if that is consistent with the time period or a defect. But does work. You will need to supply your own Audio/Video out cables.
