This lovely cloth hanging is handcrafted by the women of northern India. Symbols sewn from recycled cloth and a bell grace each door blessing. Hang them in your home or on a door to protect your house and add a splash of color. The tradition of "prosperity hens" or "gallinas de la prosperidad" comes from Northern India, where hens are seen as symbols of prosperity, fertility, and abundance. Crafting and Materials: These are often made from old sari material, strung together with beads, bells, and other decorative elements. Purpose: They are believed to invite wealth, good fortune, and positivity into a home when hung in a doorway or entryway. Cultural Significance In Northern India, the women who create these strands build their own, adding glass beads, silver ornaments, and hand-formed bronze bells, which add unique, personal touches.
