This is a import from Paris, France. It is a distinctive 1930s' black straw hat folded into what resembles a military Garrison cap. The straw is very fine, and features a gorgeous bakelite brooch in shades of gold and green. What an unusual, outstanding and hard to find type of vintage hat! Women’s 1930s hats were small and simple in decoration, yet their shaping was a work of art. Folded, molded, and angled felt made hats look like something out of a Picasso painting.
