Ladies that follow the rules normally will not buy from a closet that doesn't follow all the rules.. kdc_couture I'm sick in tired of offers for Authentic Designer Apparel @ garage sale prices. I even take the time to describe my items, take measurements, add multiple photos for clarity, & dry clean/wash apparel before listing it let alone shipping it off, ughhhh, If my items are used (majority are NEW) it's barely noticeable by our policy even with our vintage garments. Our costume jewelry is designer with a certificate of origin & era of design for a garage sale $, geez. I fully agree wuth this post; I've had some good experiences, some bad, but nothing outstanding. I've had more success selling my items on other sites getting their appropriate $ value with a faster turn around rate & with less headaches. I've kept my current designer items listed, but now only add items that I'm willing to sell for $50 or less. Those seem 2b the items that sell. Recently: I was offered $45 for Authentic Silk Prada heels in excellent condition (no rips, stains, soles barely scuffed) that would cost $350-$400 in the stores pre-tax. I'm tired of the fakes being sold as the "Real Deal".They seem to be all over this site. I'm currently returning fake turquoise earrings. I own 2 gem testers for my business & sent pics to Poshmark showing the earrings turquoise was FAKE, but await a refund. Anyway Thx To Those Whom I've Done Business with I've got a high star rating, I apologized to those whom I did run a few days late with a few shipments from hardware issues. These have since been resolved. I have thousands of designer items not listed on Posh, however, you'll definitely see my name on other site's. Im working with sites that authenticate each item prior to its listing. I get my appropriate price point & faster turn around of my garments/items. Thx 4 letting me get on my soap box & rant a little!! God bless

soonerfanatic Thank you for posting this! I'm still pretty new, & TRY to stay within the rules. Certain items, I find myself unsure about. For instance, I have some higher end hair styling cream..brand new. I listed it, then removed it because I wasn't sure if it was allowed 😕 It gets confusing, because I noticed that TONS of people aren't even attempting to follow the rules!

bellasbeauties @soonerfanatic , yeah it can be confusing if you haven't seen something like this. Some people get mad about the rules, well than don't sell here right. My opinion anyways. Rules are in place for a reason, just because some don't follow , it's those who end up not able to eventually use this site. I've been here for 3 years now. They have my start date wrong a year less. But that doesn't really matter. Following the rules is a way to get ️HOST PICS. You do have to go o parties at night. Those are the on,y parties that give them out. Not during the day. That way your item is kinda showcases more to a larger group of people so you may sell more that way , hosting parties, all kinds of things. So if you have any other questions , please feel free to ask. 😊

I've worked in the beauty industry for almost 30 years and sorry to roll you there's no way you can do that. I'm not sure if you were looking for an answer or just making a statement. bellasbeauties @lizzykristen , that's because you need to share, if you share others listings people usually share back. Don't go share one item. Do at least 5 , that way they won't just share 1 of yours. Girls will sometimes share how ever many you've shared. The more you share the ore exposure. Once you get rid of the used part of that make up, let me know. Then I can follow you and start sharing your items.. Like I said I'm always here to help out. GOODKUCK selling and have fun most if. I found out that bodysuits have to be new with tags as well . I was striving for suggested user status. And I had a referee looking bodysuit, I wore for about an hour.. It was a Host Pick also. But Posh told me that was the reason why I couldn't be a suggested user at that time.

When someone follows you check their closet out and make sure they have no unsupported items first and if they don't, follow them back and share some of their items. Most people will follow and share back as well.

I figured they had to have tags, however, I guess I kept seeing so many girls selling bikinis, bra tops, bras/panties (and yeah, bodysuits too), I thought maybe something changed. bellasbeauties @alyssahourglass , that's happened to me before. I've been here since 2012, but somehow posh got my year wrong. If you want yo get a host pick, the way I did was. When ever I see someone is co hosting , I'll ho and like their listing for the party, share it and keep sharing it until the night of the party. Also congratulate the person , ask them nicely to please check out your closet for a possible host pick.

bellasbeauties @alyssahourglass , share their items as well. The only time Host Pock are given out are at the night time parties every night. It's a way to get your item advertised. If you get a pick . If course you thank the person and somehow make that listing look pretty you can see how I've done some. Then share that and tag the host who picked , they can see that your putting their closet name out there as well.

alyssahourglass @bellasbeauties ~ I've been pretty social, only selling 3 weeks today, and 6 picks already (5 but one was twice). Share backs, and all that, but I get overwhelmed when someone new follows and then shares like 30 items, I mean it's great, but I have a tough time catching up with them all. Your advice about Congratulating was what I did, and sharing 10-20 items of theirs (unless they said not to, a couple have).

bellasbeauties @alyssahourglass , when I get a host pick . Instead of thanking everyone individually right away. I'll go and thank them by sharing a few of their items. You can always put up a listing letting others know your a bit overwhelmed, and you'll be catching up . Just to bear with you.. If you are going on vacation and won't be around for a week or more. You can also make a listing telling ladies that you're gonna be gone and won't be able to ship until you get back.

sharlovesalex I see more unsupported items than not. And I'm guilty of selling makeup (unused) and perfume/lotion (also unused). I knew no men's clothes or kids clothes, though. I'm not trying to be rude or start an argument, just curious what the big deal us about following people that have unsupported items? Or sharing their supported items? I follow lots of people with unsupported items, and they're really nice Poshers.

sharlovesalex And why is it so important to become a suggested user or host a party? Maybe I don't know because I use Posh for fun, not as a source of income. I'm a SAHM so I had lots of pre-baby clothes to get rid of, and just like browsing Posh to pass the time...I don't get all the fuss of being a party host or trying to get host pics or being a suggested user...maybe I'm missing something, or maybe it's just because I only use it to pass the time?

sharlovesalex Just wondering why it's so important to you to tell all these people you tagged about their closets when Poshmark hasn't done so or warned them. I know a few Posh friends that have been kicked off for selling off Posh or selling unsupported items, one of my friends is a makeup artist and frequently sells tools and unused makeup items, along with flat irons and such...are those items not allowed??

I only use Posh to quickly get rid of items, so I didn't see the harm selling s lipstick I've never used or a bag I'll never carry or a bath set I don't care for...and why doesn't Posh step in if these items are not allowed?

anna_beii From my understanding, Poshmark is doing little to nothing to protect buyers/sellers from those who VIOLATE the user agreement. They are simply relying on OUR sole discretion to report these listings. There is too much clutter—i.e., misbranding, mistagging, prohibited items, etc. to make some sections of the site even accessible. Over 95% of listings under certain “scapegoat” brands do not even belong there.

bellasbeauties @kjakab97 people will list whatever they want. If it’s not reported or made known it’s not supposed to be sold. It won’t be taken down. They’ve changed so many things since I joined in 2013. They were better about things not allowed . They used to take lots down. Now it seems like a free for all. I liked it better when it was a woman’s page, something for just us. Not kids or guys. Ladies. They just need more help . I don’t get it. I remember when shipping was 4.99$, now it’s double.
