PHILIPPE VENET Rare Navy Blue Silk Chiffon Pleated Dress Shell SIZE XS, S, 2-4

This silk chiffon pleated dress from Philippe Venet is an example of the attention to quality and detail of a truly couture garment. The dress undoubtedly had a matching slip at one time that no longer accompanies the dress - a great opportunity for you to acquire a rare vintage couture dress by a eminent French designer for half the price it would otherwise be. The dress has a pleated surplice bodice that closes with little silk covered snaps. It has a dropped waist, and the designer has wrapped the back of the dress above the pleats around to the front where it closes at the waist with three self-covered buttons. The half-sleeves are pleated all the way around, and if fitted properly on the arm (our mannequin's arms are too small), would be full at the bottom like a bishop's sleeve. Of course there are no tags in the dress other than the designer label, but the navy blue fabric is silk chiffon. All but the pleated skirt and sleeves are lined in the sheerest of blue silk organza. Based on the measurements and our sizing charts, it appears to be a modern size 2-4. MEASUREMENTS - Chest is 34" at twice the underam width. - Waist is 26" - Hips are free. - Length is 38" down center back. CONDITION This rare vintage dress is in excellent condition with no apparent condition issues. The dress appears never to have been worn.
