I’ve been Poshing for a while but am just now starting to switch to a boutique. Any suggestions to get my closet out there for general customers but regulars as well? So far my items aren’t things like name brands that people would be searching for. Any advice how to get listings that aren’t brand name recognized?

@reallymolls I can definitely help! First of all, great start! Always keep adding variety to your boutique, because some things sell really fast, others can take awhile. For example I still have a couple sweaters from over 2 years ago from @threadzwear but I bought from them last fall and most of those items including sweaters sold fast! I also recommend @talanz_closet, they offer a lot of variety at a great price...

@reallymolls I have slowly built up my boutique with their items over time and sold over 20 items from them just in the past month. Higher end exclusive items please check out @figleaffashion Go to my closet and put in the brand figleaffashion and select Sold listings, including these $98 sweater coats that everyone is buying!

@reallymolls Next, the #1 way people shop on Poshmark is via the search engine. The description is THE place to put words that the search engine will pick up. So if someone is searching for a “cat coin purse,” if my cat wallet listing only said Wallet in the description, the potential buyer will never see my listing.
Oct 17Reply

poshielisa
@reallymolls But if I put in my description “Cat graphic wallet coin purse,” there’s going to be more eyes on it. A coat is not just a “coat.” It’s a bohemian boho chic Native American style vintage coat/jacket/wrap. Descriptive words = exposure. Sometimes I’ll write them into a few sentences. Other times I’ll just list as many descriptive words I think people will be using in the their search. The good thing is on this site you don’t need to put a # in front...

@reallymolls So for your steer head earrings, I’d write glittery silver boho bohemian southwestern cowboy steer animal cow lovers dangle earrings. I mean you can choose to fudge it and/or expand even more: vintage inspired (I mean it’s fudging it a little but if people are searching using the word vintage...) druzy style bullhorn sparkly gift.

@reallymolls Finally, you know about sharing and following for exposure. Well, what helped me in the beginning and what I still do now is go into a posher’s page and follow their followers. Those people are actively engaged in Poshmark. They followed back! They may have even gone to share some listings and spotted something interesting, perhaps liked it or made an impulse buy. If you follow people’s followers, like a thousand a day (you don’t have to count 😆) you will get action.

@reallymolls A lot of follow backs and shares and likes, but occasionally a sudden sale. I’ll be including these tips and more in blog. If you go to my About, you’ll see the website for my blog. I don’t have a lot of content because I don’t spend much time on it, but maybe you’ll find something you didn’t know about, and I swear I’m going to get to writing more! Hope this helps 💕

@poshielisa Thank you so much for all the tips. Things I would never have thought about. I really appreciate you taking the time to offer help. Going to put your advice to work and check out your blog. You’re wonderful💝💝Thank you!!

@poshielisa i sent you a message about @talanz_closet, buying Threadz Wear and Fig Leaf Fashions. I just read in your comments with someone else that you got them on wholesale market on Poshmark. I should have explored further before I asked😀😀
Oct 18Reply

poshielisa
@reallymolls I’m just catching up with my comments now...yes 😂 unless you have your resellers permit. I HAVE my resellers permit for over two years now and I’ve STILL bought so much from Poshmark wholesalers for convenience and/or brand names I can’t find anywhere else, and to support my fellow poshers. But yeah I use my resellers permit a lot...especially lately...😂

@poshielisa did you buy up everything fig leaf in wholesale? Either I’m missing something in the search or you bought everything😅😅 Go to wholesale and search fig leaf fashion in brands?
I got my reseller permit yesterday so I’m set for finding anything. Looking for low MOQs on cute stuff. Biggest problem is places will have a low MOQ but want you to buy a run of 6-12 pieces. I see why it’s beneficial to buy wholesale on Poshmark.
Oct 20Reply

poshielisa
@reallymolls Haha! It’s all one word in the wholesale market figleaffashion 😅😆 I would need thousands of dollars to buy her out!
Oct 20Reply

reallymolls
@poshielisa the spelling explains why! So much cute stuff. I’d never heard of it, sorta glad you told me but sorta not because I want all of it for myself 😃
Oct 20Reply

poshielisa
@reallymolls Yes, especially since no one can predict if something will sell. Just get 3! However, a lot of PM wholesalers need to charge extra to circumvent the Poshmark fees, so you have to take that into account. Some are overpriced, some are affordable. Some people might say figleaffashion is overpriced but I actually stuck with her and I actually make a profit. Some customers want high end boutique stuff!

@reallymolls Talanz_closet has so much variety and you can bundle and make a reasonable offer and they’ll accept most of the time. Look for discounted items! She runs a warehouse, so when new things come, they seriously discount their inventory. That’s when I swoop in and buy everything 😂 I just applied to sell wholesale here I’m so excited! I went wholesale shopping on orangeshine for my new wholesale closet and it was sooo fun.
Oct 20Reply

poshielisa
@reallymolls I’m looking for cute, unique affordable pieces (and jewelry and accessories) and I’m going to charge the least amount possible so as to help my fellow poshers especially those starting out who may not have their resellers permit. I signed the contract, I’m just waiting for someone to contact me so I can BEGIN 😅😂🤣🚦 I’ll drop you a line when it’s up and ready, don’t feel obligated to buy, but do check it out for moral support 🥰😘

@reallymolls I wrote the tag wrong! 🤦♀️ quick link @figleaffashion1 (hi Heather of fig leaf fashion! Referring a customer)
Oct 20Reply

poshielisa
@reallymolls So sorry about that! I don’t know my tags 🤪

@poshielisa just followed her. Thank you. I thought about wholesale at one point but never got around to looking into it. My plan was to sell all the stuff I have that I never wear or that my daughter has outgrown. But the process of taking the pics seems to take me forever. I think I’m going to figure out what’s the best way to sell it in mystery boxes or something like that. I’d rather search out cute things instead of looking at my old stuff:)
Oct 20Reply

reallymolls
@poshielisa I agree about charging the least amount. Small amounts of profit can add up to lots of profit because of doing more volume so the buyer and seller win. Definitely drop me a line when you get it set up. I’m sure it’ll be filled with all kinds of cute stuff because your current closet has great items!
Oct 20Reply

poshielisa
@reallymolls Yeah taking photos sucks because it’s time consuming, back breaking, sometimes I waste time perfecting the brightness and exposure, etc...for a $10 listing? 😫 Then repeat the process over and over 😩😩 So yeah a mystery box sounds really good.
That’s my exact philosophy too!
Thank you sooo much ☺️🤗🥰

@shoemore20 Here’s my listing where I hopefully have given some good advice in the comments...I mention something I’m not sure you’re aware of... the description section is a key word heaven, or haven 😂 whichever way, the more descriptive words you can put, the more your listing will come up in the search engine 🤯😁 more eyes 👀 = more sales!
