Angel is a Birman-mix that we found several years ago on top of a fire-ant mound!!! We don't know how she got there but she was so malnourished & weak that she couldn't move. Unfortunately, they had attacked her eye before we were able to get to her. After trying to surgically repair it, the Vet wasn't able to save it. She now lives with us at the Rescue & is very beneficial not only to us but new mothers as well. She often helps new mommies by cleaning their newborns & to keep babies warm.

acgolf @classycat806 My Mom just rescued a mother cat out of the cold up in Ohio. Two weeks ago she had seven babies!!! She was just a tiny mother. They can't believe she had 7! All are healthy!! My Dad is a school teacher and we think we have some good homes lined up with some of his studio. My Mom also had a Siamese cat!! She loved him!! He acted more like a dog!! Have a great weekend!!!

acgolf @classycat806 I don't think she or the kittens would have survived. It was 15 out and snowing the day she decided to have them. My Mom had been feeding her on the front porch. She was lucky she was able to bring her in the house that day! She will probably keep the Mama! Did you live on a farm?

classycat806 @acgolf Oh, that's wonderful!!! Thank God she took her in because you're right, she & the babies probably wouldn't have survived. No, I've never lived on a farm per se, but our Rescue is on two acres that's separate from our home. We've had the Rescue, which is called The H.E.A.R.T. Group, which stands for Helping Every Animal Reach Tomorrow, for almost 20 years. We currently have 121 dogs/cats, 4 horses, 6 goats, and many, many small babies like guinea pigs, etc.

classycat806 @acgolf In West Texas. Most of the babies we have come from puppy/kitty mills that we've actually gone and freed them from. We find homes for these babies through other Rescues, word of mouth, and honestly, repeat business!!! That's the best!!! You mentioned that you would love to do this. Quite simply, it's hard work & you really have no other life. From 4am until midnight, every single day, all of your time & energies go to taking care of the babies.

Down the road, I'd love to own a rescue farm..although I don't know much about farm animals! I tried googling you, but there were quite a few with the same name, Now I know your location!

classycat806 You don't get days off, vacations, even just a night out with your husband. I honestly can't remember the last time I've eaten out at a restaurant!!! But the rewards are fabulous!!! Seeing their lil faces each day and spending all of your time with them, its the most wonderful feeling. They are so appreciative and I'm really the lucky one!!! I've got babies that's been here five & ten years that no one seems to want. That makes me incredibly sad. Of course, they get extra attention each day!!!

There are quite a few medical listings because of dealing with hearts but as far as rescues go, we're the only heart group. We actually had to register the name because a animal rescue in CA tried to use our name. I have actually had that name in MY heart since I was 12 years old. I love playing golf!!! Wouldn't it be great if we could swap lives for a week??? I wish you all of the best in your career path. How exciting??????

classycat806 @acgolf No, this isn't us!!! We currently don't have a website. Too many puppy/kitty mills were able to find us and it caused us a great deal of problems. One couple was so mad at us that they actually tried to burn down one of our kennels. We had gone into their mill & rescued 30+ yorkie's & 22 Siamese cats.

classycat806 @acgolf Oh, that would be great!!! Have you ever been to one of the Posh parties??? It's when Poshers in your area get together to have lunch, etc. I've been to only one but it was really fun. I appreciate you putting us on your list. We currently raise money by having two auctions a year with items donated to us. It's what has kept us going for many years. I'll definitely buy from your closet as well!!!

classycat806 @cyak7 Oh my goodness!!! I'd love to see a picture!!! Our Angel means the world to me as do ALL of the babies we care for & own!!! Today was a great day for adoptions as is most days when the weather is pretty. We found safe, loving & meaningful homes for six happy dogs/puppies, four precious cats & one one-eyed glorious guinea pig that's led a horrible life so far.

classycat806 @cyak7 The local police dept. brought us this lil fellow two weeks ago after they raided a house. It had been terribly neglected hence the one eye. It cost several hundred $$$ to remove it, God bless it but it's always worth it!!! The sweet baby could stand up on it's back legs for what seemed like forever lol!!! classycat806 @raninmyheart My deepest gratitude for your kind words!!! That makes me feel like what I do truly means something to someone!!! As I sit now typing this, I'm holding a little one, a 6-8 week calico kitten, that the Police brought to me this morning after having watched a horrible man throw it out his car window. He didn't just throw it out, he threw it OVER the roof of the car to the other side!!! Of course, he was arrested. I hope to have the baby a new home by this weekend.
