The artist, RCL, was born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii and was exposed early to a wide range of art comprised of vibrant, tropical colors. Now on the mainland, many of those inspirations have carried over, and he strives to infuse them into his art to this day. He has a pet parrot who usually is chatting nearby and supervises most painting sessions.
