"Old Matt's View of It" by J.K. Ross is a reprint of the 1913 memoir of John K. Ross, the inspiration behind the character of "Old Matt" in Harold Bell Wright's beloved 1907 novel, "The Shepherd of the Hills." Ross recounts his life before and after he and his wife became famous for being the inspiration for Wright's characters, and how that fame resulted in "The Shepherd of the Hills Country" of the southwest Missouri Ozarks becoming a major midwestern American tourism destination. This edition published by Shiras Bros. Print Shop, Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1938. This booklet is soft cover and is 5 1/2" 8". The item is is very good condition especially considering the age. The back cover does have some damage. (see photo) Most likely it had been put in a scrap book and mot removed properly. Feel free to bundle this item with anything else in my closet to save.
