I keep seeing listings for Racerback tanks or dresses but they are listed as RAZORBACKS... A Razorback is a wild hog, in which I do not care to purchase. Therefore I would be interested in a Racerback tanks or dresses. Just a tidbit of information. Please don't think I'm coming across nasty, I'm a niece of an English teacher and Spelling is a pet peeve that I cannot control :) Also when someone is in search of a Racerback your razorback isn't coming up :)

@mrs_errington Thank you! I was hoping I wouldn't take a beating for it. But I had seen Razorback for the last time. I wanted to get the red own out :)

Oh I totally love this!! Perfect:)

@mrs_errington iPhone never autocorrects it for me, which is why I don't understand if people just don't know or what the deal is but I thought I would help clear it up! @all4designer Please, your closet is always impeccable! @geekusa13 Thank you :)

This reminds me of @girlabouttown's example of seeing "sequence" in lieu of "sequins". I seriously think some people just don't know. My other fave is seeing "peek toe" or "pink toe" shoes instead of "peep toe". I was an English teacher so I naturally go internally insane daily here. If comments were erasable, I'd correct each one I see. Alas, they are not and I don't want to be that jerk on every bad post;)
Jul 23Reply

geekusa13
Lol sorry @girlabouttown is who I meant;)
Jul 23Reply

jesslvickers
@geekusa13 Oh I have seen that one quite a bit. My autocorrect doesn't adjust when I type sequins either and that one seems a lot more clear than razorback. I could understand people really not knowing its actually a Racerback, but sequence?
Jul 23Reply

geekusa13
Some people just really have a loose grasp on the English language. I'm in the south and I swear to you people like to sound fancy but just don't know. It's kinda amusing.
Jul 23Reply

jesslvickers
@geekusa13 I can totally understand an accent or people that English is a second language but I sometimes don't understand how people made it through grammar school without knowing how to spell.

I taught in public schools before having kids. Lets just say standards are not as strict as you would hope and many schools do not give the teacher an option to fail a student. We pass them through unless there is a drastic issue. It's part of why I have no faith in the public education sector and decided to home school my own kids.
Jul 23Reply

geekusa13
These days focus is on standardized testing for funding not educating kids to be intelligent adults:(

I love you. Followed!
Jul 23Reply

girlabouttown
@geekusa13 @jesslvickers I see "sequence" all the time and I think it's because iPhone won't autocorrect it since it's a word in its own right. It just doesn't mean what they think it means ;)
Jul 23Reply

geekusa13
@girlabouttown Good point!
Jul 23Reply

jesslvickers
@kirmar03 The feeling is mutual ;) THANKS!

@girlabouttown that's another one of my pet peeve words on here. Just haven't come up with a listing for that one yet. But wait, it will come!

That's so funny. Totally appreciate your intentional malapropism. As an English teacher, I do my best to ignore the many, many errors on Poshmark. @girlabouttown, someone pointed out the "sequence" thing to be a while back; now I see it all the stinkin' time! @geekusa13, I agree with your comment about "pass[ing students] through unless there is a drastic issue," but that doesn't mean standards aren't strict and that students aren't learning. I respect your decision to home school and to leave education since you may have struggled within the confines of the standardized-testing age, but, as a dedicated teacher, I find it offensive when people make the blanket schools are "not educating kids to be intelligent adults." Okay-- off my soapbox :)
Jul 23Reply

jesslvickers
@tinated Thank you. This post wasn't created to offend anyone, just point out the definition of each word in what was supposed to be a funny way.
Jul 23Reply

geekusa13
No offense meant @tinated, in my area it is not a blanket description but a true statement of where we are. Schools in my town are failing poorly and while I have been in other districts and areas and met many teachers and schools worth a darn, my immediate area is not so blessed. Thank goodness there are teachers like you who are still dedicated, sadly there are many more who aren't and never will be.
Jul 23Reply

girlabouttown
@tinated @geekusa13 I think that students still learn but it's in spite of the standardized tests. Basically it forces awesome teachers like you guys to go so above and beyond. I see what happens to the students who get passed along because I work in a technical post secondary school and it's a struggle teaching most of them basic sentence structure for the first time when they are supposed to be writing research papers.
Jul 23Reply

girlabouttown
@jesslvickers If you happen to find a way to capture the sequence/sequins issue, please tag me. :) I'll share that thing like a 90% off Kate Spade purse :) :)
Jul 23Reply

tinated
Okay @girlabouttown, @geekusa13, @jesslvickers... Now that I've started a fiasco on what was supposed to be a cheeky post, I feel bad. I'm all faklempt. I think I should change the topic. I'll give you a topic: Ralph Fiennes is spelled neither rafe nor fines. Discuss.
Jul 23Reply

geekusa13
You made a perfect post, never feel bad! Lively debate awakens the soul;) My feelings aren't hurt, I never aim to hurt others and I'm totally comfortable with my opinion. I love your post. ❤❤
Jul 23Reply

@tinated and I love your opinion too! I like your spark:) I really am glad schools have teachers like you that care!
Jul 23Reply

@girlabouttown @jesslvickers I'd share that sequence/sequins post like a champ too, I think you have your next mission if you choose to accept;)

I knew I loved you! Haha! The worst offender for me is the "sequence" instead of sequins. It literally drives me crazy. Hahahaha! I was thinking about doing a posting about it, too. Lol.
Jul 27Reply

jesslvickers
@kwistenm Oh my god, I am seriously trying to come up with one for that as well. Autocorrect doesn't change sequins to sequence either!

@girlabouttown Oh that's too funny! If you come across them again tag me! I love a good laugh... I have to come up with another post for sequence vs. sequins! But demon pants may be a fun one too :)

Yes, you are right, incorrect spelling is unprofessional. Next, incorrect labeling or sizing?

OMG thank you! I literally just googled this because I didn't understand why there were so many "razorback" tanks and this came up. Love it! 😅💕
Jul 31Reply

@vanillestyle same here!! @jesslvickers another one that bugs me is POKA DOT... literally the listings with razorback and poka dot out number the correct terms by like 8 to 2.. I was seriously stunned that the majority of people apparently don't know the correct terms! Lol
Aug 01Reply

YAAAASSSSSSS I probably have some typos too though ;)

😂 literally just googled this because I’ve seen so many “Razorback” listings and thought maybe I was the one that had it wrong with my “racerback” listings. 😂

@jesslvickers I just came across a ‘Razorback’ post. Always bugs me. I googled it and yours was first to come up. Thank you for posting. I used to own a swimwear boutique and customers were always asking for razors. Sometimes I corrected them but often I let it go.

Google brought me here! Was checking my feed and it’s Best in Tops right now, so a lot of tops showing up...and the first one said “razorback,” which I’ve been seeing a lot of lately. So I decided to google if that was even a thing, some sort of offshoot spelling (racerback vs razorback)...and it’s not! So thank you! Your post made my Saturday! 😂🐗🏃♀️ Love!
Aug 24Reply

poshielisa
@geekusa13 I see sequence in lieu of sequins more often than not 🤦♀️😂 Good observation!
