Drawing on influences from fellow Southern rock bands such as Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Marshall Tucker Band, Outlaws developed a unique, hard-driving country rock sound. The band was also notable for featuring three different front men who swapped vocal lines and dueling guitar riffs. The album peaked at #13 on the US 200 chart and spawned the single 'There Goes Another Love Song', which peaked at #34 on the US Hot 100. Though not released as a single, the album is best known for the rock classic 'Green Grass & High Tides', which is widely considered to be one of the greatest guitar songs as it epitomizes the Southern rock genre. The track has received extensive play on album-oriented radio stations and is a standard among classic rock playlists on streaming platforms.
