OSCAR de la RENTA Vintage Purple Silk Mini Dress with Portrait Collar SZ 0/2 XS

This 1970s evening dress from Oscar de la Renta features my favorite neckline: the portrait collar. This one is densely ruched all the way around and looks almost like a shawl that is attached to the dress. The front of the dress has a second layer of fabric on the right side that is swagged up the neckline to form those gathers at the center of the of the collar. The actual fitted dress is the purple silk lining that is covered by the loose chiffon. The lining (or "underdress") has a fitted waist and zips on the left side; the chiffon "overdress" closes with snaps on the same side. The chiffon fabric is absolutely stunning! The red, green, and purple colors are vibrant, and there are even some purple metallic leaves that really sparkle. Labeled size 4 but measures like a modern extra small. The measurements were taken on the interior purple lining.* MEASUREMENTS - Underarm chest measurement is 31" - Waist is 24" - Hips are 38" - Length is about 29" down center back CONDITION This dress is fine structurally, but the delicate chiffon fabric has quite a few fabric pulls and a couple of small holes. Fortunately, because of the dark colors and busy pattern, they are not conspicuous and, in my opinion, do not affect the wearability of the dress. The one area of concern is a cluster of two holes and several thread pulls. However, this area is 100% covered by that second layer of fabric on the right side of the dress and is completely invisible on the exterior.
