I created this Piece In Respects to My Ancestry. Made out of rocks I collected over a period of time in creeks wherever one would catch my eye. I hand carved all pieces of wood. All rocks are in naturally found form and still original color. Sea shells are painted silver for complementary purposes. This piece was inspired from the many stories I’ve heard and read of my ancestors and the journeys made across great distances led by markers of stone and rocks. The main currency my native ancestors was of stone. I myself have a mysterious connection with stones and of the sort. Something just so soothing takes over on the search. It’s very inviting to such deeper meaningful thoughts and beautiful questions.
