traceynoodles Hi Jordan you purchased my Danner boots. Danner Boots are meant To be stiff and built that way. Its not from yrs of use and not being worn. Ive worn these up until months ago. All Danner boots are built this way unless you buy "light weight". Vibram soles are built to last forever for hiking, not a boot to wear casually. Sorry your unhappy about your purchase, but if you know Danner boots, you would have known what to expect. Have a nice day.

jbecca333 @traceynoodles I see- thanks for the update! Do you have any recommendations for how to deal with the really stiff part on the underside of the tongue? Did you just wear really really thick socks?

traceynoodles @jbecca333 I'm glad you got my msg. When you buy these boots they are stiff. They stay this way because of being hiking boots. I would use weatherization such as leather lotion to soften but these boots are meant for strentgh/no destruction. I wore hiking socks with them. The tongue lines up with the laces so that nothing gets inside. Look up these boots...all the same. Hope this helps...let me know!
