North Carolina Medal Bicentennial with Chain Moto Bronze (?) Medal

This medal is possibly from the 70s during America's bicentennial celebration. It has the North Carolina motto on one side "To be rather than to seem". It is possibly made of bronze but not 100% sure. The chain is a little discolored but otherwise intact. Stored in smoke free, climate controlled home.
