The LeBron 11 ‘Gator King’ released in February 2014 as part of the Nike Basketball Gumbo League Collection, which was inspired by New Orleans, host city of that year’s NBA All-Star Game. Symbolizing the city of New Orleans, the LeBron 11 ‘Gumbo League’ is presented with a vibrant makeup. Influenced by the king of the bayou—the alligator—the ‘Gator King’ edition of the LeBron 11 features a reptilian pattern on the tongue, outsole and midsole shank. The glow-in-the-dark Hyperposite panels reveal hidden features in the dark, while the purple and green tones stem from the ‘Rex’—king of carnival celebrations. The shoe’s Hyperfuse construction is finished in Purple Dynasty and accented by Green Glow on the Hyperposite panels. The latter feature glows in the dark, revealing hand-drawn graphics. The reptile-skin print on the tongue and a marbled effect on the outsole provide additional unique patterns.
